Nancy Sander
Nancy came on board at BYR in 2018 as a General Session mentor. She learned about the ranch from friends who attended a church service where Jenny had given a presentation. It turned out that Nancy had met Jenny years before at the stable where she kept her horse. Her horse background includes both Western and English, which began when she was 7 years old and continues to this day. She realized after the first few sessions at the ranch that this was a place where God wanted her to be – a place where prayer and God’s word could be freely shared with kids as they interacted with horses. Nancy has a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from Carroll College in Helena. She is a Lieutenant Colonel retired Army Nurse who had multiple medical assignments domestically and overseas. She is also retired from Gallatin County where she worked as a Registered Nurse. In addition to mentoring at BYR she has also volunteered with Warriors and Quiet Waters as a team leader, working with wounded veterans. When Nancy isn’t at the ranch she enjoys being close to her five grandchildren, two of whom are in our MINT program.
